Stephen Strasburg left Saturday's Washington Nationals game with an undisclosed injury. Preferring to err on the side of caution, Nationals manager Jim Riggleman pulled his young starter in the bottom of the fifth inning against the Philadelphia Phillies. There was no immediate word from the Nationals regarding the nature of Strasburg's injury, but one is expected shortly, the Washington Post reports. Strasburg grabbed his right wrist and shook it after a pitch to Dominic Brown.

The Washington Nationals say outfielder Josh Willingham is facing knee surgery and not expected to return this season. The Nationals placed Willingham on the 15-day disabled list on Thursday. Manager Jim Riggleman says Willingham will have surgery next week to repair a medial meniscus tear in his left knee.
