The Washington Nationals just can’t catch a break right now as they dropped their fifth straight game after starting the season 3-0.  The Nationals had their chances with the bases loaded a couple of times, but couldn’t push across any runs when they needed to against the Florida Marlins as the Marlins won 10-7.

Starting pitcher Tim Redding picked up the loss.  Redding lasted four innings while giving up seven hits and seven runs.  Only one of the runs was earned however.  Errors really hurt Redding and the Nationals on Monday night.

Chris Schroder, Luis Ayala, and Jon Rauch also all allowed runs to cross the plate for the Marlins.

Christian Guzman and Lastings Milledge each had three RBI’s for that Nationals and Felipe Lopez contributed with one RBI.  You would think you would win the ballgame by scoring seven runs, but not when your pitching and defense sucks…

The Washington Nationals have signed starting pitcher Tim Redding to a one year eal worth $1 million dollars.  Cheap money for a pitcher that needs to prove he can still pitch in the major leagues.  I like the signing, as the Nationals could definately use some help with their pitching.

What do you Nationals fans think? Do you like the signing?  Think Redding can win 10 games for the Nationals this year?  Leave a comment and let us know!
