It was another close ball game for the Washington Nationals, but this time they were on the losing end as they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals 5-4 on Saturday. Matt Chico picked up the loss for the Nationals as the Cardinals got out to a 4-0 lead after the third inning and they never looked back.
Nick Johnson was 3-for-4 with his first home run and two RBIs, and Jesus Flores‘ two-run shot off Anthony Reyes cut the deficit to a run in the ninth but that was as close as the Nationals got.
The Nationals have now lost three games in a row after sweeping the Philadelphia Phillies.
